description The book The new mole by Emir Sader brings back to scene the question of "absence" or "lack" of Latin American theoretical developments, in relation to the continent's historical struggles as well as the current posneoliberal praxis. This article reviews some important contributions that are nowaways trying to build an analytical framework to study the question of hegemony along the contemporary Latin American process. Some include Emir Sader, Atilio Borón, Iñigo Errejón, Dieane Raby, Álvaro García Linera, Pablo Stefanoni, Javier Balsa, Claudio Katz and Jorge Sanmartino, among other thinkers. We are particularly interested in reflecting about, on the one hand, the role of society's material-structural conditions, and on the other, the discursive construction of social practices; as well as the question of class and ideology, objective conditions and discourse. It is then necessary to analyse those who seek to reestablish a relation between Marx, Gramsci and Laclau, in order to suggest -according to  these thinkers- the reconstruction or recovery of the role of class within the analysis of discursive aspects of the hegemonic construction, disregarded by the developments at Essex. Besides, we also hypothetically discuss these contributions in relation to the contemporary process in Venezuela, as an example of the analytical proposals outlined.

Besides, we also hypothetically discuss these contributions in relation to the contemporary process in Venezuela, as an example of the analytical proposals outlined.
