Diagnose was confirmed in 54%. 62% were women and 38% men. 63% of the children had between 3 and 5 years. From the registers received, 98% were sexual abuses and 2% rape. In 62% of children the aggressor was a relative.There was an increase of 20% compared with the previous year. Differences in the distribution according to ages were also observed, finding an increase of 100% in children between 3 and 5 years (p<0.01)Conclusions: sexual abuse in children and adolescents is a public health problem that is growing bigger, showing that the age group the most vulnerable is that of the youngest children, therefore the importance of applying prevention and detection measures. El aumento de consultas por Abuso Sexual Infantojuvenil es una realidad denunciada públicamente.Objetivo:caracterizar sociodemográficamente y por estructura familiar las consultas por Abuso Sexual en el año 2004.Materiales y método: el análisis descriptivo se realizó a partir de los registros clínicos del servicio de Salud Mental del Hospital de Niños.Resultados: se atendieron56niños y adolescentes, se confirmó el diagnóstico de Abuso Sexual en el 54%. El 62% eran mujeres y el 38% varones. El 63% de los niños tenía entre3y5años. De las consultas recibidas el 98% eran abusos sexuales y el 2% correspondía a violaciones. En el 62% de los niños el agresor era un familiar.Se observó un incremento de consultas del 20% respecto al año anterior. También se encontraron diferencias en la distribución por edades encontrándose un incremento del 100% en los niños entre 3 y 5 años (p<0,01).Conclusiones: el abuso sexual infantojuvenil es un problema de salud pública en incremento.
