PubMed, Scielo and Lilacs, with studies from 2019-2021. Inclusion criteria were: original articles in English or Portuguese; patients with high blood pressure (HBP) and/or diabetes as risk factors, or no comorbidities. Exclusion criteria were: original articles in incompatible languages; no evaluated risk factors or no relevant for the topic. Results: Out of 24 patients with ischemic stroke related to COVID-19 who were evaluated, 70.83% were men and 35.29% were over 64 years old. Diabetes was more prevalent in women (60%) and HBP in men (75%). Regarding evolution, 41.17% of the patients died; 57.14 of them presented HBP. Conclusions: This study showed the relationship between risk factors and patients’ age range regarding the occurrence of ischemic stroke related to COVID-19. Although age is a determinant factor in ischemic strokes, comorbidities showed significant importance.

Introducción: El principal objetivo del COVID-19 es el sistema respiratorio humano, sin embargo, también tiene capacidades neuroinvasivas. El estado de hipercoagulabilidad que genera la infección es uno de los principales factores de riesgo para la aparición de un accidente cerebrovascular isquémico (ACV). A pesar de su baja incidencia, presenta una alta morbilidad y mortalidad, la cual es aún más pronunciada cuando se asocia a factores de riesgo que favorecen la ocurrencia de tal evento. Material y métodos: Este estudio consiste en una revisión integrativa de la literatura, realizada en tres bases de datos: PubMed, Scielo y Lilacs, con estudios de 2019-2021. Los criterios de inclusión fueron: artículos originales en inglés o portugués; pacientes que presentaban hipertensión arterial sistémica (HAS) y/o diabetes como factores de riesgo o sin comorbilidades. Los criterios de exclusión fueron: artículos originales en idiomas incompatibles; factores de riesgo no evaluados y no correspondencia con el tema abordado. Resultados: De los 24 pacientes evaluados con AVC isquémico relacionado con COVID-19, el 70,83% eran hombres y el 35,29% tenían más de 64 años. La diabetes fue más prevalente en mujeres (60%) y la HSA en hombres (75%). El 12,5% de los pacientes tenía diabetes y HAS y el 41,6% no tenía comorbilidades. En cuanto a la evolución, el 41,17% de los pacientes fallecieron, de estos, el 57,14% presentaban HAS. Conclusiones: Este estudio demostró la relación entre la presencia de factores de riesgo y el grupo etario de los pacientes con respecto a la ocurrencia del AVC isquémico relacionado con el COVID-19, ya que además de ser la edad de los pacientes determinante en los eventos isquémicos, las comorbilidades  demostraron una trascendencia evidente. INTRODUÇÃO: O COVID-19 possui como principal alvo o sistema respiratório humano, entretanto, tem, também, habilidades neuro-invasivas. O estado de hipercoagulabilidade gerado pela infecção apresenta-se como um dos principais fatores de risco para a ocorrência de um acidente vascular cerebral (AVC) isquêmico. Apesar de baixa incidência, possui alta morbimortalidade, acentuada, ainda mais, quando associada a fatores de risco que favorecem a ocorrência de tal evento. MATERIAIS E MÉTODOS: Esse estudo consiste em uma revisão integrativa de literatura, realizada em três bases de dados: PubMed, Scielo e Lilacs, com estudos de 2019-2021. Os critérios de inclusão foram: artigos originais em inglês ou português; pacientes que apresentaram como fatores de risco hipertensão arterial sistêmica (HAS) e/ou diabetes ou nenhuma comorbidade. Os critérios de exclusão foram: artigos originais em idiomas incompatíveis; fatores de risco não avaliados e não correspondência à temática abordada. RESULTADOS: Dos 24 pacientes avaliados com AVC isquêmico relacionado à COVID-19, 70,83% eram homens e 35,29% tinham mais de 64 anos. A diabetes mostrou-se mais prevalente nas mulheres (60%) e a HAS nos homens (75%). 12,5% dos pacientes possuíam diabetes e HAS e 41,6% não possuíam nenhuma comorbidade. Quanto à evolução, 41,17% dos pacientes foram a óbito, desses, 57,14% apresentaram HAS. CONCLUSÕES: Esse estudo demonstrou a relação entre a presença de fatores de risco e a faixa etária dos pacientes no que tange a ocorrência de AVC isquêmico relacionado à COVID-19, visto que além da idade dos pacientes ser determinante nos eventos isquêmicos, as comorbidades apresentaram evidente significância.
