Motor function analysis of a child with cerebral palsy after 4 years (11 modules) of Intensive Neuromotor Therapy associated with PediaSuit®

Abstract: Cerebral palsy (CP) is characterized by postural and movement disorders, affecting the functional activities. Physiotherapy has a role in the rehabilitation process and Intensive Neuromotor Therapy (INMT) is a proposal for a modular intervention with high intensity. The present study aimed...

Physiotherapy has a role in the rehabilitation process and Intensive Neuromotor Therapy (INMT) is a proposal for a modular intervention with high intensity. The present study aimed to analyze longitudinally the gross motor skills of a child with CP after 11 modules of INMT with PediaSuit™. The medical records of 1 child with bilateral, spastic CP, GMFCS V, from 3 to 6 years of age were analyzed, comparing the initial and final scores of GMFM-88 and GMFM-66. It was possible to observe that in most modules there were gains in motor function, evidenced by the scores of GMFM-66, as well as GMFM-88, especially in dimension A (lying and rolling).
