Results show that the variables: Focalization on problem solution, search of social support and avoidance correlated with consideration of others; open emotional expression of anger correlated positively with distress and defensiveness and negatively with self-control; positive re-evaluation showed statistically significant association with self-control and consideration of others; negative self-focalization has shown positive correlation with defensiveness.

El presente trabajo explora la asociación entre estrategias de afrontamiento del estrés y ajuste socioemocional en conductores de buses de transporte público urbano de la ciudad de Sucre, durante la gestión 2016. La muestra estuvo conformada por 140 sujetos integrantes de los dos sindicatos de conductores de buses a quienes se aplicó el Cuestionario de Afrontamiento del Estrés (CAE) y el Inventario de Ajuste de Weinberger (WAI). Los resultados muestran una asociación entre la variable consideración con la variable focalización en la resolución del problema (r = 0,418; valor p=0,0001) reevaluación positiva (r=0,500; valor p=0,001), la evitación del problema (r=0,292; valor p=0,001) y la búsqueda de apoyo social (r=0,206; valor p=0,015). Por otra parte se encontró una correlación entre la defensividad y la autofocalización negativa (r=0,274; valor p=0,001) y la expresión emocional abierta (r=0,383; valor p=0,001). La variable dominio de sí mismo correlacionó positivamente con la reevaluación positiva del problema y negativamente con la expresión emocional abierta (r=-0,334; valor p=0,001). Por último la vivencia de distrés se asoció positivamente con la expresión emocional abierta (r=0,198; valor p=0,019). Resumo Este artigo explora a associação entre as estratégias de enfrentamento do estresse e Ajustamento Sócio emocional em motoristas de ônibus do transporte público urbano na cidade de Sucre, durante a administração de 2016. A amostra foi composta de 140 membros escolhidos entre os dois sindicatos de motoristas de ônibus a quem foi aplicado o Questionário de Enfrentamento do estresse (CAE) e o Inventário de Ajustamento Weinberger (WAI). Os resultados mostram que as variáveis: Foco na resolução de problemas, busca de Apoio social e evitação correlacionaram com a Consideração dos outros; a Expressão emocional aberta de raiva correlacionou positivamente com o distresse e Defensividade e negativamente com o Domínio de si próprio; a Reavaliação positiva apresentou uma associação estatisticamente significativa com o Domínio de si próprio e consideração pelos outros; a-Autofocagem negativa apresentou uma correlação positiva com a Defensividade.
