For this reason the World Trade Organization (WTO) examined the importance of fishing subsidies and their different categories. Recently, the Twelfth WTO Ministerial Conference was concluded and contains a series of unprecedented decisions on fisheries: the Agreement on fisheries subsidies, an opportunity that justifies to be evaluated by the Argentine Republic. La sobrepesca y su situación se encuentran agravadas por los subsidios que recibe el sector y por ello la Organización Mundial de Comercio (OMC) examinó la importancia de las subvenciones pesqueras y sus diferentes categorías. Recientemente, se concluyó la Duodécima Conferencia Ministerial con una serie de acuerdos sin precedentes sobre pesquerías: el Acuerdo sobre subvenciones ala pesca, una oportunidad que merece ser evaluada por la República Argentina.
