This article identifies two cultural frameworks involved in the journalistic narrative of entertainment and celebrity coverage —melodrama and scandal—, and analyzes their articulation in the biographical production about famous mothers that proliferates in magazines, TV shows, and platforms dedicated to celebrity news. Embedded in the tradition of discourse criticism, the work investigates the staging of melodramas and scandals in the journalistic construction of six stories linked to motherhood involving different famous Argentine women.
From the analysis of different sources that threaded those stories, a moral rhetoric is observed, expressed by the complementary alternation between tales of misfortunes and maternal transgressions. |

Desde variadas historias sobre la vida íntima de mujeres famosas, el periodismo de espectáculos y chimentos compone valoraciones y juicios acerca de emociones y comportamientos que alimentan las atribuciones culturales sobre la maternidad. Este artículo identifica dos matrices culturales implicadas en la narrativa periodística de espectáculos y chimentos —el melodrama y el escándalo—, y analiza su articulación en la producción biográfica sobre madres famosas que prolifera en revistas, programas televisivos y plataformas dedicadas a las noticias sobre celebridades. Enmarcado en la tradición crítica del discurso, el trabajo indaga la puesta en escena de melodramas y escándalos en la construcción periodística de seis historias vinculadas a la maternidad de famosas argentinas. A partir del análisis de diferentes fuentes que enhebraron esas historias, se observa una retórica moral expresada por la alternancia complementaria entre relatos de infortunios y de transgresiones maternas. A partir de uma variedade de histórias sobre a vida íntima de mulheres famosas, o jornalismo de entretenimento e de fofocas compõe avaliações e julgamentos sobre emoções e comportamentos que alimentam atribuições culturais sobre a maternidade. Este artigo identifica duas matrizes culturais implicadas na narrativa jornalística do showbiz e dos chimentos - melodrama e escândalo - e analisa sua articulação na produção biográfica sobre mães celebridades que prolifera em revistas, programas de televisão e plataformas dedicadas a notícias sobre celebridades. Enquadrado na tradição crítica do discurso, o artigo investiga a encenação de melodramas e escândalos na construção jornalística de seis histórias ligadas à maternidade de celebridades argentinas famosas. A partir da análise de diferentes fontes que encadearam essas histórias, observamos uma retórica moral expressa pela alternância complementar entre histórias de infortúnio e transgressões maternas.
