The general objective of this work is to define the selection criteria to be applied in the documentary series of sports institutions. As a case study, we studied the documents of the Members Department of the "Club Atlético Belgrano". We reviewed national and provincial legislation to verify the existence of guidelines regarding the value or the need to preserve some documents produced by the sports institutions of Cordoba. We analyzed seventeen documentary series to check if they have permanent or temporary value, define which ones to keep and which ones to eliminate, and determine the selection criteria to apply. Finally, we made a table of conservation periods and final destination with the series analyzed. The research shows that the lack of criteria for the selection of records from sports institutions can cause the loss of important sources of information, for the producing entity itself and for society in general. Keywords: Club Atlético Belgrano - Documents - Members Department - evaluation - criteria Los Archivos de los clubes deportivos reúnen una importante información con relación a la vida de la entidad a la que pertenecen e incluso de toda la sociedad en la que se encuentran. Sin embargo, no siempre están a disposición de los usuarios, tanto por problemas de organización de los documentos como por dificultad en el acceso. El objetivo general de este trabajo es definir los criterios de selección a aplicar en las series documentales de las instituciones deportivas. Como estudio de caso, se estudiaron los documentos del Departamento Socios del “Club Atlético Belgrano”. Se revisó la legislación nacional y provincial, para verificar la existencia de pautas respecto del valor o de la necesidad de conservar algunos documentos producidos por las instituciones deportivas cordobesas. Se analizaron diecisiete series documentales para comprobar si tienen valor permanente o temporario, definir cuáles conservar y cuales eliminar y determinar los criterios de selección a aplicar. Por último, se confeccionó una tabla de plazos de conservación y destino final con las series analizadas. La investigación demuestra que la falta de criterios para la selección de los documentos de archivo de las instituciones deportivas puede provocar la pérdida de importantes fuentes de información, tanto para la propia entidad productora como para la sociedad en general.
