The Topographic Department, whose mission is to satisfy this need, has already initiated the corresponding geodesic and cartographic works. In order to make known the scientific elements that serve as base for their preparation, the author of the present one begins a series of publications, in which he will expose widely the methods and procedures that will be used with the indicated aim. In this first study, the author intends to inform about the projections that will be used for the cartographic publications of this division and, consequently, all the considerations that are made in it, are with a cartographic concept, leaving other parts to be treated in future studies from a rigorously mathematical point of view. El desarrollo económico de Córdoba y las exigencias que resultan de su rapido progreso, imponen la confección de mapas exactos del territorio de la Provincia. El Departamento Topográfico que tiene la misión de satisfacer tal necesidad, ha iniciado ya los trabajos geodésicos y cartográficos correspondientes. Con objeto de dar a conocer los elementos científicos que sirven de base para su preparación, inicia el autor de la presente una serie de publicaciones, en las cuales expondrá ampliamente los métodos y procedimientos que se emplearan con el fin indicado. En este primer estudio propónese el autor informar sobre las proyecciones que se usaran para las publicaciones cartográficas de dicha repartición y, por consiguiente, todas las consideraciones que en el se hacen, lo  son con un concepto cartográfico, quedando otras partes para tratar en estudios próximos desde un punto de vista rigurosamente matemático.
