The monetary system has been a contributing factor in this fruitful work, in terms of the guarantee that the Caja de Conversión offers in gold to the banknotes in circulation. This statement does not imply to say that the system in general is good, but that it represents a great step forward with respect to the system prior to the year 1900. Its benefits are effectively felt by the foreign market, in the favorable balances of its trade, even though its benefits in the internal order are relative. Los años transcurridos fueron de progreso para el país argentino que ha visto acrescentadas sus riquezas en proporciones relativas. Ha sido factor contribuyente de ponderativa actuación en esta labor fecunda, su régimen monetario en cuanto a la garantía que a los billetes en circulación ofrece en oro la Caja de Conversión. Esta afirmación no Implica decir que el régimen en general sea bueno, pero sí que representa un gran paso con respecto al sistema anterior al año1900.
