There he expresses the suffering of food needs, the fear suffered by the natives before the imminent arrival of the military, the suffering of a plague, and the departure of Roque González de Santa Cruz to the Uruguay River where he would found new reductions. El presente artículo está enfocado en el análisis de una fuente jesuitas, la carta anua parcial que desde la reducción de Encarnación de Itapúa escribe Diego de Boroa a su superior Pedro de Oñate en 1619 reseñándole los hechos acaecidos en el último año en la reducción de guaraníes allí asentada. Allí se expresa el padecimiento de necesidades alimentarias, el temor sufrido por los naturales ante la inminente venida de militares, el padecimiento de una peste, y la partida de Roque González de Santa Cruz hacia el río Uruguay donde fundará nuevas reducciones.
