A pedagogical model was implemented that allows the student self-management of knowledge, considering the human being as an individual who interacts with his peers, inserted in a physical, biological, and social framework that contains him and allows the integration of basic and clinical contents for a career in Health Sciences such as Dentistry. Different actions were developed to implement the proposal: teaching of theoretical and theoretical-practical classes; preparation of a Learning Guide; design of a Virtual Classroom and preparation of material in booklet format. The teaching proposal was evaluated through a survey applied in the 2018 to 2021 cohorts with questions about the Characteristics of the subject, modality of teaching theoretical classes and theoretical-practical classes, teachers, study materials provided to students, virtual classroom, and evaluations. We consider that the pedagogical proposal was well received by the students. It remains to reflect on how to optimize efforts in the development of an education model based on competencies, especially in aspects such as evaluation and teacher training in the use of technologies for higher education. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la experiencia de cátedra, implementada en la asignatura Microbiología e Inmunología de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. Se implementó un modelo pedagógico que permita al estudiante la autogestión de conocimientos, considerando al ser humano como un individuo que interactúa con sus pares, inserto en un marco físico, biológico y social que lo contiene y permitiendo la integración de contenidos básicos y clínicos para una carrera de las Ciencias de la Salud como es la Odontología. Se desarrollaron diferentes acciones para poner en marcha la propuesta: dictado de clases teóricas y teórico-prácticas; elaboración de Guía de Aprendizaje; diseño de un Aula Virtual y elaboración de material en formato de cuadernillo. La propuesta docente se evaluó mediante una encuesta aplicada en las cohortes 2018 a 2021 con preguntas sobre: Características de la asignatura, modalidad de dictado de las clases teóricas y de las clases teórico-prácticas, los docentes, materiales de estudio proporcionados a los alumnos, aula virtual y evaluaciones. Consideramos que la propuesta pedagógica fue bien recibida por parte de los alumnos. Aún resta por reflexionar sobre cómo optimizar los esfuerzos en el desarrollo de un modelo de educación basado en competencias, especialmente en aspectos como la evaluación y la formación docente en el uso de tecnologías para la educación superior.
