Various conceptions have been adapted during this process, giving rise to several significant changes in an attempt to give hierarchy to this pillar of the public university in line with the genuine needs of the community. However, there are still some challenges for the future, for which the participation of its teachers and students will be very important, not only in their permanent education and training, but also in the substantiation of renewed interdisciplinary projects, more and more committed to the social collective. La Extensión Universitaria en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, ha transitado por un largo proceso de concepciones, tensiones y cambios evolutivos con el propósito de ir paulatinamente acompañando los actuales paradigmas extensionistas. Diversas concepciones fueron adaptándose durante dicho trayecto, dando lugar a varios cambios significativos en un intento por jerarquizar este pilar de la Universidad Publica en consonancia con las necesidades genuinas de la comunidad. No obstante, se plantean todavía algunos retos hacia el futuro, para lo cual será muy importante la participación de sus docentes y estudiantes no solamente desde su permanente formación y capacitación, sino además en la sustanciación de renovados proyectos interdisciplinarios, cada vez más comprometidos con el colectivo social.
