To support the narrative, knowledge from different academic disciplines and fields of reflection intersect, such as development criticism, political ecology of agroecology, environmental knowledge, the perspective of complexity, collective psychology and ecofeminism. These allow the construction of frameworks of meaning that go beyond rational knowledge and delineate the adult-centered, patriarchal, extractivist and ecocidal character of the agroindustrial system that is imposed in most of the rural territories. Este texto presenta, a través de una narrativa autoetnográfica, una serie de reflexiones en torno al sistema agroindustrial de monocultivo de maíz, que surgen a partir de experiencias de vida, de trabajo comunitario y de investigación del autor en la zona de Ixtlahuacán del Río y Cuquío en Jalisco, México. Para sustentar la narrativa se intersectan saberes de distintas disciplinas académicas y campos de reflexión, como las críticas al desarrollo, la ecología política de la agroecología, el saber ambiental, la perspectiva de la complejidad, la psicología colectiva y el ecofeminismo. Las cuales permiten construir entramados de sentido que van más allá del conocimiento racional y delinean el carácter adultocéntrico, patriarcal, extractivista y ecocida del sistema agroindustrial que se impone en gran parte de los territorios rurales.
