description Abstract:  When there is an imbalance in the work and professional training environments between the ability to respond and comply with job demands and those of professional training in skills, respectively, it is then that a scenario conducive to the development of burnout is generated. Academic or student burnout arises from the assumption that students, specifically university students, like any professional, encounter pressures and overloads typical of academic work. Therefore, it is possible that many professionals or professions potentially develop the syndrome, including: students, nurses, doctors, social workers, teachers, police officers, etc. In this sense, if it is considered that the situation of a university student entails a load of hours dedicated to the activity similar to those of a profession or trade carried out formally. Objective: To analyze the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in Students of Engineering in Villa Mercedes San Luis systems A cross-sectional study was conducted. The Atienza 2010 Labor Burnout Scale was used. The respondents were invited to participate in a workshop on Burnout and in this framework, with prior consent, the scale was applied. The total number of workshop participants was 47, all agreed to complete the scale. The sample was in Systems Engineering students from a University of Villa Mercedes San Luis that has a total of approximately 250 students. The prevalence of Burnout syndrome in students is 59.3%, with 35.2% moderate and 24.1% severe, 27.8% did not present burnout syndrome. The levels of Burnout are high, the scale allows early detection of SB so that the ministerial authorities together contemplate the implementation of comprehensive programs to improve conditions to avoid the deterioration, frustration and disappointment that the syndrome can bring in students.

The levels of Burnout are high, the scale allows early detection of SB so that the ministerial authorities together contemplate the implementation of comprehensive programs to improve conditions to avoid the deterioration, frustration and disappointment that the syndrome can bring in students. . Universidad Nacional Córdoba.
