description The “last first day” is a lively event which takes place in order to celebrate the beginning of senior year. This one represents a relatively new phenomenon as well as a dangerous party because of the high levels of alcohol that teens can consume in a short period of time. The aim of these stdy was to detect consumption of alcoholic beverages of the "last first day" in students of secondary level of the city of Cordoba and Cruz del Eje in the beginning of the school year corresponding to 2019. Investigate knowledge of risks and detect protective factors. An observational cross-sectional study was accomplished. The survey included an anonymous questionnaire with closed responses, not validated, answered by 101 students of the last year of secondary school in the City of Cordoba and 54 Cruz del Eje in ages between 16 and 19 years, randomly selected, statistical data processing was done using Excel. In Cordoba, 70.6 % participants were women and 29.4 men; 61.1 % are 17 years old and 55.6 % women and 44.4 men from Cruz del Eje; 81.5 % are 17 years old. Ninety-five per cent were aware of the risks of excessive consumption. In Córdoba 91% consumed: vodka, beer and wine, 90% bought the drinks personally and 10% provided by the parents. They consumed 7 measures of alcohol 23.2%, 34.7% performed games or rituals to get drunk, 17.9% together marijuana and cocaine. Symptoms of intoxication were 42.1%; 9.5% required medical assistance; 46.3% referred to parental awareness as a protective factor. In Cruz del eje 88 % stated to consume: vodka, beer and wine acquiring them personally. 30% consumed 7 measures and 6 measures 16%, 38% performed games or rituals to drink, 28% added marijuana, benzodiazepines and amphetamines. As protective factors 32 % referred to the awareness of parents and 18% belong to the honor roll of the school. The modality of high consumption of alcohol on the "last first day" is risky as is the "permissibility of the parents". Although the sample number is not significant, it is a new reason for research.
