With in this frame work, the article poses a doublé question: the role of school libraries as countercultural sites in the information age, and the invisibility of these learning and non-formal education spaces in the curricula of different library science programs, teacher training programs, and universities in Argentina. El siguiente ensayo explora y cuestiona los conceptos de la biblioteca escolar y su poca difusión en cuanto a la extensión cultural y los distintos tipos de actividades que se pueden llevar a cabo dentro y fuera de este espacio. En este marco, el escrito sugiere un doble interrogante: el rol de las bibliotecas escolares como sitios contraculturales en la era de la información, y la invisibilización de estos lugares de aprendizaje y de educación no formal en los diseños curriculares de las diferentes carreras de bibliotecología, de los profesorados y de las universidades de Argentina.
