In this sense, museums have been constituted active participants in symbolic processes that contribute to building social reality. Cultural material and archaeological objects question past representations, specially, when collections from different historic times are involved.  In this paper, we are concerned to analyzed different aspects related with archaeological collections from Archaeological and Anthropological Museum Casa Martínez (Corrientes).  On one hand, tasks related to order and record of documents and archaeological collections initiated since its opening. On the other hand, we are interested in past representations observable through its different places and exhibited assets. Therefore, it is our goal to investigate what kind of past is presented, under which aspects (architectonic, archaeological, documental) are used and how the cultural material exhibited is tackled. Los museos de fines del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX se han generado, en principio, como repositorio de bienes a la vez que se han caracterizado por construir un proyecto político en torno a un discurso hegemónico. En este sentido, los museos se han constituido en actores claves en los procesos simbólicos que contribuyen a la construcción de una realidad social. La cultura material y los objetos arqueológicos interpelan la construcción de representaciones del pasado, especialmente, cuando involucran colecciones de diferentes momentos históricos. En este trabajo, nos interesa analizar diferentes aspectos relacionados con las colecciones arqueológicas que se encuentran disponibles en el Museo Arqueológico y Antropológico Casa Martínez (Corrientes). Por un lado, los trabajos de ordenamiento y relevamiento de documentación y colecciones arqueológicas llevados adelante a partir de su inauguración y la conformación de sus colecciones. Por otro, nos interesa tratar sobre las representaciones del pasado que se pueden observar en esta institución a partir de la disposición de sus diferentes espacios y los bienes exhibidos. En este sentido, y considerando la documentación conservada en el museo, nos interesa indagar qué tipo de pasado se representa, desde qué diferentes aspectos (arquitectónico, arqueológico, documental) se propone su abordaje teniendo en cuenta además, la cultura material exhibida.
