The SISBI promoted the automation of library processes such as centralized purchasing of journals and the implementation of CDS/Isis (Microisis) software. It was also in charge of the administration of undergraduate scholarships for library science students, which in many cases contributed to the automation of library catalogs. During this decade, dynamics of technological innovation were generated in the field of libraries, which had consequences not only within the UNC, but also spread to other Argentine public universities through the National Network of University Libraries. Within these new cooperation networks, library coordination and cooperation teams, the Microisis software and the construction of union catalogs were promoted. The analysis of the socio-technical dynamics in the UNC libraries allows us to understand the accions that generated and sustained complex innovation processes as well as to analyze the factors that contributed to the erosion of some developments and their subsequent abandonment. El presente trabajo explora las dinámicas socio-técnicas vinculadas a la automatización de las bibliotecas de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) y su Sistema de Bibliotecas e Información (SISBI) en el período  1985 - 1996. El SISBI impulsó la automatización de procesos bibliotecarios  con medidas como la compra centralizada de revistas y la implementación del software CDS/Isis (Microisis). También estuvo a cargo de la administración de becas de pregrado para estudiantes de bibliotecología que, en muchos casos aportaron a la automatización de los catálogos bibliotecarios. Durante esta década se generaron dinámicas de innovación tecnológica en el ámbito de las bibliotecas con consecuencias no solamente al interior de la UNC sino que, a través de la Red Nacional de Bibliotecas Universitarias irradiaron a otras universidades públicas argentinas. Dentro de estas nuevas redes de cooperación se promovieron equipos de coordinación y cooperación bibliotecaria, el software Microisis y la construcción/ elaboración de catálogos colectivos. El análisis de las dinámicas socio-técnicas en las bibliotecas de la UNC permiten comprender las acciones que generaron y sostuvieron procesos de innovación complejos, así como también analizar los factores que contribuyeron a la erosión de algunos desarrollos y su posterior abandono.
