Cabrera Castiglioni, Magela Competencias en información Competencias digitales Educación superior Information competences Digital competences Higher education It discusses about some necessary competences in college students in order to meet the requirements of the current academic world from the perspective of Information Science, raising informational and digital competences as essential for development in the information society.From Information Science theoretical approach, characteristics of the current society and the role of the information as an input of vital importance for the individuals and the social groups are analyzed. Through a methodology of bibliographical analysis, skills and abilities are explained that cover each competition. For the purposes of the analysis, the digital competences are divided into: technical-instrumental and analytical-rational. In parallel, the information competences involved in college life are developed, as well as the competences necessary for reading images and reading in virtual environments as constants in the academic space of today. As a result, a systematization of the necessary skills and abilities for the development of individuals in theacademic world is offered, taking into account the elements introduced by the digital era in the transmission and knowledge generation spaces. Se dialoga sobre algunas competencias necesarias en los estudiantes universitarios de cara a los requerimientos del mundo académico actual, desde la perspectiva de la Ciencia de la Información.Se plantea a las competencias informacionales y digitales como esenciales para el desarrollo en la sociedad de la información. A partir de un abordaje teórico de la Ciencia de la Información, se analizan las características de la sociedad actual y el rol de la información como insumo de vital importancia para los individuos y los grupos sociales. A través de una metodología de análisis bibliográfico y de antecedentes en el tema, se explicitan destrezas y habilidades que abarca cada competencia. A los efectos del análisis se dividen las competencias digitales en: técnicoinstrumentales y analítico-racionales. En forma paralela, se desarrollan las competencias en información involucradas en la vida universitaria, a la vez que se identifican las competencias necesarias para la lectura de imágenes y la lectura en entornos virtuales como constantes en el espacio académico de hoy. Como resultado, se ofrece una sistematización de destrezas y habilidades necesarias para el desarrollo de los individuos en el mundo académico, teniendo en cuenta los elementos introducidos por la era digital en los espacios de transmisión y generación de conocimiento.
