Specifically, we were interested in understanding whether the inclusion of Modern and Contemporary Physics (FMC) at the beginning of the Physics undergraduate program would have an impact on reducing student dropout. The research consisted of 40 students enrolled in the first or second year of the Physics Degree at the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (IFUSP). Data collection was conducted through a closed-ended questionnaire, covering topics such as students' expectations prior to the start of the course, academic performance, satisfaction with first-semester subjects, satisfaction with the curriculum, and future expectations regarding the course. The main results revealed that the majority of students were satisfied with the subjects taken in the first semester (66.33 %) and with the course curriculum (91.89 %). Although students expressed interest in FMC content, no significant frustration was identified due to the non-inclusion of these topics in the early semesters of the program. Therefore, there is no evidence to suggest that the absence of these contents could be a reason for frustrations that might lead to student attrition from the course. Apresentamos neste trabalho os resultados de um estudo no qual objetivamos investigar a possível influência da satisfação de estudantes com o currículo de um curso de graduação em Física e a permanência dos mesmos no Ensino Superior. Particularmente, estivemos interessados em compreender se a inserção de Física Moderna e Contemporânea (FMC) no início da graduação em Física teria impactos na diminuição da evasão do curso. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram 40 alunos matriculados no primeiro ou segundo ano do curso de Licenciatura em Física do Instituto de Física da Universidade de São Paulo (IFUSP). A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de um questionário fechado, abordando temas como as expectativas dos alunos antes do início do curso, desempenho acadêmico, satisfação com as disciplinas do primeiro semestre e com a grade curricular, além das expectativas futuras em relação ao curso. Os principais resultados revelaram que a maioria dos alunos se encontrava satisfeita com as disciplinas cursadas no primeiro semestre (66,33 %) e com a grade curricular do curso (91,89 %). Embora os alunos tenham manifestado interesse em conteúdos de FMC, não foi identificada nenhuma frustração significativa pela não inclusão desses temas nos primeiros semestres da graduação. Portanto, não há evidências que indiquem que a falta desses conteúdos poderia ser um motivo para frustações que, eventualmente, acarretaria a evasão dos estudantes do curso.
