That is why I think it is useful for the professor of physics to begin by showing, at least, a part of the physical ideas that were developed during antiquity and the Middle Ages, and use that historical fact, from here, to accompany the student to understand the birth of the new physics, as the passage from adolescent intuition to adult rationalism. This is the fundamental purpose of this work. El mundo que con sus sentidos observa el alumno es distinto al que se le enseña: la Tierra está quieta, los cuerpos al ser lanzados se detienen, un péndulo no oscila eternamente, etc. Es entonces que nos damos cuenta, como en su momento menciona Kuhn, los alumnos son “naturalmente” aristotélicos. Por ello creo, que es de utilidad para el profesor de física, comenzar por mostrar, una parte al menos, de las ideas físicas que se desarrollaron durante la antigüedad y la Edad Media, y usar ese hecho histórico, para a partir de aquí, acompañar al alumno a entender el nacimiento de la nueva física, como el paso de la intuición adolescente al racionalismo adulto . Es este el propósito fundamental del presente trabajo.
