It is proposed to characterize and analyze the conceptualizations about models and modeling of a selected group of practicing technical school teachers. This is a qualitative study of ten cases of science and technology teachers, who attended a continuous teacher training course, lasting one semester, at the National Pedagogical University in Argentina. The process of developing didactic sequences that include the formulation of open and complex problems and that require the design, elaboration and construction of analog models for the contextualized teaching of Physics contents for their resolution is analyzed. It is expected that the research results can serve as input for the design of teacher training devices in physics that include aspects of working with models and modeling. El presente trabajo se inscribe en la etapa final de desarrollo de una tesis doctoral, dentro de la línea de enseñanza de las ciencias basada en modelos y modelización y se focaliza en procesos de formación docente. Se propone caracterizar y analizar las conceptualizaciones sobre modelos y modelización de un grupo seleccionado de docentes de escuelas técnicas en ejercicio. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo de diez casos de profesores de ciencias y tecnología, que asistieron a un curso de formación docente continua, de un semestre de duración, en la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional en Argentina. Se analiza el proceso de elaboración de secuencias didácticas que incluyen el planteo de problemas abiertos y complejos y que requieren para su resolución del diseño, elaboración y construcción de modelos analógicos para la enseñanza contextualizada de contenidos de Física. Se espera que los resultados de la investigación puedan servir como insumo para el diseño de dispositivos de formación docente en física que incluyan aspectos del trabajo con modelos y modelización.
