Learning with digital games: modeling interaction with Portal 2
This work, framed in the Knowledge in Pieces perspective (diSessa, 2017) aims to analyze the interaction between digital game Portal 2 and players in order to identify structures of knowledge defined as ‘phenomenological primitives’ (p-prims) associated to Newtonian movement of particles in space. The interaction was modeled from a topologic description of the cognitive pro-cesses involved in the interaction by using the Structured Priority System model (diSessa, 1993 & Watzl, 2010). Certain activities were associated to cognitive processes concerning the intuitive knowledge of physical space and its dynamics. Three different processes to which p-prims have high cuing priority were defined. These research findings lead to verify Portal 2 didactic poten-tialities.
