Fernández"" General Acute Hospital. It aims to investigate the professional intervention of Social Work, with maternities affected by problematic substance use, during the hospitalization of the children. The methodological perspective carried out is a descriptive and retrospective study, with a documentary strategy combining quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The article will be organized into two sections where some of the fundamental contributions of the research are recovered. In the first, a characterization of the social situation of women-mothers with a situation of problematic substance use is carried out and in the second, we seek to describe the intervention strategies that are deployed in the face of situations of problematic use of women/mothers in which the Social Service is summoned. El trabajo de investigación que se presenta es producto del recorrido como equipo de Residencia de Trabajo Social del Hospital General de Agudos "Juan A. Fernández". El mismo pretende indagar sobre la intervención profesional del Trabajo Social, con maternidades atravesadas por el consumo problemático de sustancias, durante la internación de las/los niñas/os. La perspectiva metodológica llevada adelante es un estudio de tipo descriptivo y de corte retrospectivo, con una estrategia documental combinando técnicas de análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo. El artículo se organizará en dos apartados donde se recuperan algunos de los aportes fundamentales de la investigación. En el primero se realiza una caracterización de la situación social de las mujeres-madres con situación de consumo problemático de sustancias y en el segundo se busca describir las estrategias de intervención que se despliegan frente a las situaciones de consumo problemático de las mujeres/ madres en las que es convocado el Servicio Social.
