At a general level, it tries to question unifying amalgams in the hegemonic interpretation of the visual symbolic miscegenation that tends to place the colonial baroque as a hybrid and unifying third of legacies, generating an interpretation of visual discursivity from a homologous perspective. In contrast, it seeks to demonstrate the multiple and juxtaposed coexistence of semiotic-visual texts that, in a "parallel" way, coexist in the same significant materiality and that, depending on the sociocultural stratum of belonging, made possible different interpretations of meaning. El presente trabajo analiza socio-semióticamente el retablo en exposición del Museo Histórico Provincial Marqués de Sobremonte de la Ciudad de Córdoba realizado en el siglo XVII en el contexto de la “evangelización” y del cuestionado “pacto colonial”. A nivel general, intenta cuestionar amalgamas unificadoras en la interpretación hegemónica sobre el mestizaje simbólico visual, que tiende a situar al barroco colonial como una terceridad híbrida y unificadora de legados, generando una interpretación de la discursividad visual desde una perspectiva homologadora. En contraposición, busca demostrar la convivencia múltiple y yuxtapuesta de textos semiótico-visuales que, de forma “paralela”, conviven en una misma materialidad significante y que, dependiente del estrato sociocultural de pertenencia, posibilitaba diversas interpretaciones de sentido.
