Although its impact on humans is limited, sporadic cases have been recorded, indicating that there is a risk of infection depending on the level of exposure, viral load and degree of pathogenicity of the virus. Therefore, it is crucial to strengthen epidemiological surveillance in both human and animal populations. To this end, the farm headquarters has devoted itself to collecting and updating information to raise awareness of the community about the importance and impact of this disease in Argentina and the world. La influenza aviar ha dejado un impacto devastador en la vida silvestre, la industria avícola y los mercados, extendiendo en los últimos años su presencia a nivel mundial. Aunque su efecto en los seres humanos es limitado, se han registrado casos esporádicos, lo que indica que existe un riesgo de contagio dependiendo del nivel de exposición, carga viral y grado de patogenicidad del virus. Por tanto, es crucial fortalecer la vigilancia epidemiológica tanto en la población humana como en la animal. Con este fin, la Cátedra de Granja de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias, se ha dedicado a recopilar y actualizar información para concienciar a la comunidad sobre la importancia y el impacto de esta enfermedad en Argentina y en el mundo.
