In Argentina, catholics and the extremeright nationalism started their fight against the so-called ‘red threat’, linked to old criticisms againstliberalism. Thus, democracy, communism, and liberalism were articulated in the construction ofanticommunist ideas, in order to defend the social order. The following text aims to analyze therelationship between antiliberalism and anticommunist positions, highlighting the ruptures andcontinuities throughout the interwar years. El marco de la crisis del paradigma liberal acompañó el desarrollo de las primeras lecturas contrala revolución bolchevique y los comienzos del anticomunismo. En el caso argentino, el mundocatólico y la derecha nacionalista apuntaron contra el llamado “peligro rojo”, al que emparentaroncon viejas críticas elaboradas contra el liberalismo. Así, democracia, comunismo y liberalismo, searticularon en un juego de impugnaciones en pos de la defensa de un orden social. El siguiente textose propone abordar y analizar aquellos elementos compartidos por las posiciones antiliberales yanticomunistas de los actores mencionados, señalando las rupturas y continuidades que fueronpresentando a lo largo de los años de entreguerras.
