The synthesis of theoretical construction by Cohen will be explained in this paper, showing why the camping trip model would be both desirable and feasible (if certain conditions occur), due to the principles of radical equality of opportunity and community that sustains it. Furthermore, there will be presented two possible arguments, which reveal that not only the model of the camping would not be feasibledue a self-contradiction between the two principles that sustain it, but also it would not be entirely desirablefrom the point of view of intended generosity between equals. Finally another reason of disagreement about the desirability and feasibility of socialist organization on a higher scale will be mentioned. La igualdad, como valor social, ha sido objeto de numerosas construcciones teóricas político-jurídicas tendientes al desarrollo de un diseño institucional que torne operativo al mismo, según sea la concepción defendida al respecto. Una de ellas es la propuesta por G. A. Cohen como alternativa al liberalismo y a toda forma de organización económica de mercado, representada en elmodelo socialista del campamento. Por tanto, en el presente trabajo se expondrá una síntesis de la construcción teórica efectuada por Cohen en la que quedaría evidenciado que tal modelo resultaría tanto deseable como factible (de lograr se produzcan ciertas condiciones), en razón de los principios de igualdad radical de oportunidades y de comunidad, sobre los que lo fundamenta. Seguidamente, y por separado, se presentarán dos posibles argumentos que revelen que no solo que el modelo socialista del campamento no sería factible por presentar una autocontradicción entre los dos principios que lo sustentan, sino que tampoco sería del todo deseable desde el punto de vista de la generosidad pretendida entre iguales. Y finalmente se mencionará algún otro motivo de discrepancia acerca de la deseabilidad y factibilidad de la organización socialista en una escala superior.
