Finally, some of the pioneering works of queer anthropology are addressed, particularly those that have addressed the Mexican context, undertaken at first by American anthropologists and later by Mexican professionals. El presente texto tiene por objetivo realizar un análisis genealógico y describir la incorporación e institucionalización de la perspectiva propia de la teoría queer a la antropología en Norteamérica, particularmente en Estados Unidos y México, que ha derivado en el reconocimiento de la antropología queer como una rama de la disciplina que ha contribuido tanto en el abordaje de los temas clásicos propios de la antropología, en el abordaje de temas emergentes en el contexto contemporáneo, como también en la configuración gremial de las y los profesionales de la antropología, en este sentido, se aborda la incorporación e institucionalización de la antropología queer dentro de la American Anthropological Association (AAA), organismo que rige el quehacer disciplinario. Finalmente, se abordan algunos de los trabajos pioneros de la antropología queer particularizando en los que han abordado el contexto mexicano, emprendidos en un primer momento por antropólogos y antropólogas estadounidenses y posteriormente por profesionales mexicanos.
