From these anecdotes, it is thought to understand three configurations of definition of subjects and rights involved in the field of mental health: degeneration, psychoanalysis, and human rights. El artículo trata sobre la relación entre arte y locura en la cosmología del Occidente, a partir de tres ejemplos: 1) el caso de la colección creada por el psiquiatra alemán Hanz Prinzhorn, en la clínica de la ciudad de Heildelberg (1919), y su posterior persecución por parte de la propaganda nazi, responsable por el fomento de exposiciones de "Arte Degenerado” (1930); 2) el caso de la psiquiatra brasileña Nise da Silveira, que implementó talleres de expresión plástica en un hospital neuropsiquiátrico de Río de Janeiro y fundó, a partir de esa experiencia, el Museo de Imágenes del Inconsciente (1946-1952); 3) el caso del Colectivo Milpies que, integrado por profesionales de la fotografía, trabajo social, artes plásticas y educación, desarolla talleres dentro y fuera de instituciones sanitarias en la ciudad de Córdoba en el marco de las directrices de las leyes de salud mental vigentes de Argentina (2018). A partir de esas anécdotas, se busca entender tres configuraciones de definición de sujetos y derechos involucradas en el campo de la salud mental: la degeneración, el psicoanálisis y los derechos humanos.
