This strike lasted about a month and a half and was part of a larger, nationwide conflict. However, far from being subsumed by the national union conflict, the reality of local workers, their dissatisfaction with situations of abuse and violence in the workplace, prompted a series of claims entirely based on their status as women and workers. A main axis of inquiry was the influence of the group of working women on the demands made during the conflict (better treatment of supervisors, prominers and hierarchical personnel-bosses, managers-, greater flexibility towards requests to go to the toilet, better conditions hygiene, menstruation day). The stories about the suffering in women's working conditions establish a direct influence on the degree of combativeness achieved during the weeks of surprise stoppages, evictions and later camping in front of the factory. Through the use of oral sources, it seeks to give an account of a doubly invisible history: from the discourse or narrative of the Provincial State, and by the social networks of inequality around gender within local and national unionism. El caso abordado es el conflicto de la empresa Alimentaria San Luis, en el año 1986 en Villa Mercedes, Provincia de San Luis. Esta huelga duró aproximadamente un mes y medio y formó parte de un conflicto mayor, de escala nacional. Sin embargo, lejos de estar subsumida al conflicto sindical nacional, la realidad de las trabajadoras locales y su descontento con situaciones de abuso y violencia en el ámbito laboral impulsaron una serie de reclamos íntegramente fundados en su condición de mujeres y trabajadoras. Un eje principal de indagación fue la influencia del colectivo de mujeres trabajadoras sobre las demandas llevadas a cabo durante el conflicto (mejores tratos de supervisores, apuntadores y personal jerárquico -jefes, gerentes-, mayor flexibilidad hacia los pedidos para concurrir al sanitario, mejores condiciones de higiene, día por menstruación). Los relatos sobre el sufrimiento en las condiciones laborales femeninas establecen una influencia directa sobre el grado de combatividad alcanzado durante las semanas de paros sorpresivos, desalojo y posterior acampe frente a la fábrica. Mediante la utilización de fuentes orales, se busca dar cuenta de una historia doblemente invisibilizada: desde el discurso o narrativa del Estado Provincial, y por las tramas sociales de desigualdad en torno al género al interior del sindicalismo local y nacional.
