| Sumario: | The present writing derives from a qualitative research-action carried out in a Provincial Institute of Secondary Education located in the neighborhoodAlberdi in Córdoba City. There, we work with young people who attend sixth year in the evening shift. In our work, gender appears as a variable that enables the expression of a political position which allows making visible the situations of inequality that both discourses and institutions reproduce. This gender perspective allows us to question relationships of inequality and the concentrated and normalized roles that are assigned to each gender. Although we are going through a crisis of paradigms regarding what it is to be a man or a woman, it seems that what is happening with the representations of femininity doesn’t have a counterpart in the masculinities. In this sense, our first approach is oriented to the importance of reflecting about masculinitiestogether with young people. In this instance, we measure the articulations concerning the differential socialization and its influence in the reproduction of the hegemonic masculinityin young men of a secondary school. This becomes relevant to understand the process by which people internalize certain behavior patterns of the socio-cultural environment they take part in, especially those related to the social category of hegemonic masculinity. This offers a number of elements to reflect upon mandates regarding hegemonic masculinity. Based on these reflections, we have tested approaches to contribute to the understanding and generation of new questions in relation to masculinities. With such an end, one must consider young men as a social group conditioned by collective discourses. The difficulty of favoring spaces of reflection and criticism about gender discourses is a consequence of these being naturalized and invisible and of the subjective implications they provoke. For this, we consider it importantto resort to a relational analysis of gender to inquire about the forms of socialization, interactions and roles. Though gender can be lived as an individual experience, the moment we reflect upon it one must transfer those experiences to the social framework and relate them to the differential socialization process. |
