For that purpose, it focuses in the municipal archives located in the current province of Misiones, that hold documentations of greater antiquity regarding this period. Firstly, the general characteristics of these sources are presented, addressing both their most favorable and unfavorable aspects. Afterwards, the documentation held in these archives is presented, indicating its current accessibility and conservation. Lastly, several historiographical problems that could benefit from consulting these sources are appointed. El artículo propone abordar las potencialidades de los libros de actas de sesiones municipales como fuentes para el estudio de diversos problemas historiográficos en el marco de los territorios nacionales. Para ello se centra en los archivos municipales ubicados en la actual provincia de Misiones que disponen de la documentación de mayor antigüedad correspondiente a esta etapa. En primer lugar, se desarrollan las características generales que presentan estas fuentes, destacando sus aspectos favorables y desfavorables. Luego, se presenta la documentación más antigua disponible en estos archivos, su accesibilidad y estado, y se abordan algunos de los problemas historiográficos que podrían beneficiarse de su consulta.
