Likewise, the dependency fulfills the function of being the historical archive of the Casa de Altos Estudios, by preserving its institutional documentation. Desde 1999 funciona en la Universidad Nacional del Sur el Archivo de la Memoria. Su finalidad es registrar y conservar testimonios orales de vecinas y vecinos de Bahía Blanca. Estos registros son de uso público y están disponibles para quienes se interesan en conocer o investigar sobre la historia de la ciudad. Asimismo, la dependencia cumple la función de ser el archivo histórico de la Casa de Altos Estudios, mediante la conservación de su documentación institucional.
