This experience proceeded from recognizing the distance between my written and school culture and the ones of my students, from which I started an exploration regarding their life conditions. I registered the multiple everyday activities and responsibilities in which my students were involved and the consistently time constraint they had to read the bibliographical texts of the syllabuses. The recognition of that reality and the contributions of some authors (who reflect on the formation of the readers) led me to propose the creation of a reading space-time within the class. Here are presented the guidelines that regulated this space-time as well as the valuations from the students about it. En este artículo presento una experiencia pedagógica desarrollada en el marco de una asignatura de un Profesorado de Educación Primaria de la ciudad de Córdoba. Esta experiencia partió de reconocer la distancia existente entre mi cultura escolar y escrita y las de mis estudiantes, a partir de lo cual inicié una exploración en torno a sus condiciones de vida. Registré las múltiples actividades y responsabilidades diarias en las que mis estudiantes se implicaban, y la consecuente escasez de tiempo con que contaban para leer los textos bibliográficos del programa de la asignatura. El registro de esa realidad y los aportes de algunos autores que reflexionan sobre la temática de la conformación de los sujetos lectores me llevaron a proponerles a mis estudiantes la creación de un espacio-tiempo de lectura al interior de la clase.
