The archaeological site of Alero Caído is located southwest of Coranzulí (Susques) in the Dry Puna of Jujuy (Argentina). Although shepherds are seminomadic groups that reside in an area for short periods of time, we believe that aspects such as mobility, the notion of landscape and social interaction allow the reconstruction of the social landscape of the Puna,contributing to the understanding that pastoralism is a way of life that structures and links various aspectsof social life, and not a mere economic alternative resulting from environmental conditions.
