description This paper presents the results of the zooarchaeological analysis carried out on the collection from the Arroyo Las Mulas 1 site (Entre Ríos province, northeastern Argentina), in order to obtain information of the anthropic exploitation of faunal resources. This archaeological deposit is one of the classic sites of the pre-Hispanic archaeology of the middle basin of Paraná River. Its record is linked to the archaeological unit locally known as Goya Malabrigo, and is dated to 950-750 years 14C BP. The zooarchaeological assemblage is composed predominantly by fish and secondarily by rodents, while deer exhibits marginalrepresentation. The data obtained suggest that human action is the principal agent of formation and modification of the zooarchaeological set.
