description The Ambato Archaeological Project carried out research for 40 years in the Ambato Valley, producing a large data and information registry, through prospections and excavations. The information obtained was characterized by its great variety interms of registration techniques used, which reflect the variations in archaeological theory and practice. The objective of this work is to integrate the spatial information produced by the Ambato project, into a GIS (Geographic Information System) smoothing the access to information, based on a database that gathers all the spatial data of the different periods of the investigation, with its different methodologies, to obtain an archaeological atlas. We were also able to observe and value, in the variations of archaeological theory and practice, the importance of the construction of scientific thought, over time.
