description On Friday, June 16, 2017, from Miami and in an act that seemed more typical of the Cold War, Trump put a brake on the process of distension with Cuba initiated in 2014 by Obama and Castro. Surrounded by the most stale of anti-Castroism, he displayed an aggressive, paternalistic and interventionist speech. In the following months, he deepened that line. On September 29, with the excuse of an alleged sonic attack on officials of the US Embassy in Havana, he removed 60% of the staff and restricted the granting of visas. What scope and limits has the (new) relationship with the island? What are the causes of the abandonment of this Obama’s “legacy”, which had received so much praise? What was the Cuban response? How will it impact in the United States and in the already complex and strained relations with Latin America and the Caribbean?
