For this purpose, were compared and analyzed the written productions made by the students of three cohorts during the Chemistry course. Meaningful learning involves the construction of mental models consistent with the conceptual models, which are scientifically accepted, and their utilization to explain and predict macroscopic phenomena. As a relevant conclusion, we can mention that the use of multimedia resources benefits the formation of mental models consistent with the conceptual models, but this depends largely on the characteristics of the task requested. En esta investigación se estudia el proceso de construcción de los modelos mentales de distintos tipos de transformaciones químicas de compuestos inorgánicos, realizado por los aspirantes a ingresar a la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias que utilizan el campus virtual de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Se compararon y analizaron las producciones escritas realizadas a lo largo del curso de Química por los alumnos de tres cohortes.  Un aprendizaje significativo implica la construcción de modelos mentales consistentes con los modelos conceptuales, los cuales son científicamente aceptados, y la utilización de los mismos para explicar y predecir fenómenos macroscópicos.  Como conclusión relevante se puede mencionar que el uso de recursos multimediales favorece la formación de modelos mentales consistentes con los modelos conceptuales, pero esto depende en gran medida de las características de la tarea solicitada.
