When we try to trace a genealogy of the references to C & R in Argentina, we find that they are unevenly distributed in time and inhabited discursive genres as historiography, testimonial memory, literature and journalism research. The purpose of this work is to see how it builds up a series of specific research of the liberation christianity, and in this new field arises how C & R as an object of study. The article is divided in two parts: first, an introduction outlining the historical problem of liberationist christianity, to locate C & R as emergent complex processes of change in the relationship between the Church and civil society initiated during the first half of the twentieth century. The second part will analyze four kinds of discourse that have addressed the magazine since the 1980s: a) The memories of witnesses and investigative journalism, b) Intellectual History and Cultural History, c) The new Church History and Sociology of religion, d) History of political organizations and the armed movements. Cristianismo y Revolución (C & R, en adelante) fue un medio de comunicación militante dirigido por Juan García Elorrio, que funcionó como espacio de cruce entre el cristianismo liberacionista, los movimientos armados y el peronismo revolucionario. Cuando intentamos trazar una genealogía de las referencias sobre C & R en la Argentina, nos encontramos con que estas se distribuyen irregularmente en el tiempo y en los géneros discursivos donde habitan, como la historiografía, la memoria testimonial, la literatura y el periodismo de investigación. El propósito de este trabajo es observar como se va formando una serie de investigaciones específicas del cristianismo liberacionista, y en este nuevo campo la manera en que surge C & R como objeto de estudio. El artículo se divide en dos partes: en la primera, se esboza una introducción al problema histórico del cristianismo liberacionista, para ubicar a C & R como emergente de complejos procesos de cambio en la relación de la Iglesia con la sociedad civil iniciados durante la primera mitad del siglo XX.  En la segunda parte se analizarán cuatro géneros discursivos que han abordado la revista desde la década de 1980: a) Las memorias testimoniales y el periodismo de investigación, b) la Historia intelectual y la Historia cultural, c)La nueva Historia de la Iglesia y la Sociología de la religión, d) La Historia de las organizaciones políticas y los movimientos armados.
