Sumario:In this article we analyze the production of housing in the framework of the implementation of a massive housing construction policy developed in Argentina during the Kirchner governments (2004-2015): the Federal Housing Construction Programs, which, in their beginnings, were implemented in order to contribute to the revitalization of the economy, specifically the construction market, after the economic, social and political crisis of 2001, and to reduce the housing deficit. Specifically, we will reflect on the housing built within the framework of these programs, guided by what we consider to be three characteristics of this type of housing policy: that they are policies in which the builder and the inhabitants do not interact; that are guided by a unique definition of housing need and satisfies and, finally, in which a type of housing type is established for a particular inhabitant. The research that supports this article was carried out during the years 2010 to 2012 from a qualitative methodology, specifically from an ethnographic perspective, and consisted of conducting interviews with officials, workers and inhabitants of a group of houses in the municipality of Avellaneda.
