Sumario: | This paper aims to estimate an educational production function for Mendoza. The estimated model, based on a translogarithmic technology to capture second-order relationships, corroborates the evidence from the literature: although it is a controversial approach in terms of methodologies used and expected results, there is agreement that the most significant factor in explaining students' academic achievement is socio-economic status. However, without proposing prescriptions for the use of specific inputs, the results of the model suggest important space for educational decision-makers at decentralised levels. |
