description This contribution is geared towards reimagining and reflecting on topics such as Camiare (comechingón) Identity, Territory and Memories and the urge to review the complex bound between History (as a means to discipline) and Memory (pointing to the memories of populations who were subalternized) that is born as a result of that reflection. This approach stems from a critical decolonial perspective that fights to make the colonial hierarchy between academic knowledge and Native People’s knowledge visible by taking the concepts of “fragmented memories” and “restoring Memories project” that have been previously worked on by anthropologists in Argentina for that goal. Likewise, the article tries to focus on the weight that sacred sites –the so-called “Earth Beings” or “significant alterities” that remain present throughout some spatialities in the Sierras- and some particular objects hold during the task of retracing. We share and signify some experiences of current Native families –communalized or not- with the goal of collecting the gateways through which the self-affirmation identity processes occur. Finally, last but not least, we analyze the State’s role (from the colonial period down to the democratic present alike) in erasing not just Native People’s journey after the expropriation of their lands during the late 19th century but also certain Memories that, as previously mentioned, present themselves as incomplete, fragmented or weak.

Esta contribución tiene como meta reflexionar y repensar, desde mi propia trayectoria como investigador y docente perteneciente al pueblo camiare, en torno de algunos tópicos como la Identidad camiare (comechingón), el Territorio y las Memorias. A partir de relevar las intrínsecas relaciones y correspondencias entre conceptos se insta a revisar el complejo vínculo entre Historia (en tanto saber disciplinar) y Memoria (en el sentido de aquellos recuerdos de sectores que han sido subalternizados). Ese abordaje se realiza desde una perspectiva crítica y decolonial que se preocupa por visibilizar la jerarquía colonial existente entre saberes académicos y saberes indígenas, retomando para ello las nociones de “memorias en fragmentos” y “proyectos restaurativos de memorias” ya trabajados por la antropología en Argentina. Asimismo, el artículo propone enfocarse en la importancia que tienen los sitios sagrados, los llamados “seres-tierra” o “alteridades significantes” presentes en algunas espacialidades de las Sierras, y algunos objetos particulares, al momento del recordar. Para ello se comparten y significan algunas experiencias de las familias indígenas actuales –estén o no comunalizadas- con el objetivo de relevar los carriles por donde transcurren los procesos de autoafirmación identitaria. Finalmente y no por ello menos importante, se analiza el rol del estado (en su etapa colonial como republicana) al momento de la invisibilización no solo de los trayectos indígenas luego de los procesos de expropiación de tierras a finales del siglo diecinueve, sino también de ciertas Memorias que como dijimos, se presentan como incompletas, fragmentarias o débiles. Esta contribuição pretende reflectir e repensar, a partir da minha própria experiência como investigador e professor pertencente ao povo Camiare, sobre alguns temas como Identidade, Território e Memórias de Camiare (Comechingón). Ao salientar as relações intrínsecas e as correspondências entre conceitos, a complexa ligação entre História (como conhecimento disciplinar) e Memória (no sentido das memórias de sectores que foram subalternizados) é revista. Esta abordagem é levada a cabo de uma perspectiva crítica e descolonial que se preocupa em tornar visível a hierarquia colonial existente entre o conhecimento académico e o conhecimento indígena, retomando as noções de "memórias em fragmentos" e "projectos restauradores de memórias" já trabalhados pela antropologia na Argentina. O artigo propõe também focar a importância dos locais sagrados, os chamados "serras da terra" ou "alterações significativas" presentes em algumas espacialidades das Serras, e alguns objectos particulares, no momento da recordação. Para este fim, algumas experiências de famílias indígenas actuais - quer sejam ou não comunalizadas - são partilhadas e assinaladas, com o objectivo de realçar os caminhos ao longo dos quais os processos de auto-afirmação da identidade se realizam. Por último, mas não menos importante, analisamos o papel do Estado (tanto na sua fase colonial como republicana) em tornar invisíveis não só as trajectórias indígenas após os processos de expropriação de terras no final do século XIX, mas também certas memórias que, como dissemos, são apresentadas como incompletas, fragmentárias ou fracas.
