The coastal archaeological sites from the sectors between Santa Cruz River mouth and the current territory of the Monte León National Park provide information about the use of local biotic and abiotic resources. The lithic technological assemblages reflect this situation: mainly local raw materials were exploited in the past, using mostly expedient technological strategies. This paper aims to enlarge the investigation about the use that was given to the different rocks in the mentioned sectors to better understand the choices that hunter-gatherers groups made in the past when selecting and using the different lithic raw materials available in the environment. It is observed that within the wide range of accessible lithologies, those that dominate the samples are siliceous rocks, dacite and basalt and that each of them shows certain differences that indicate that not of them were used in the same way. Likewise, the choice of allochthonous rocks during the Middle Holocene and then a change towards local ones in the Late Holocene is observed. |

Los conjuntos arqueológicos costeros provenientes de los sectores comprendidos entre la desembocadura del río Santa Cruz y actual territorio del Parque Nacional Monte León dan cuenta del aprovechamiento de los recursos bióticos y abióticos locales por parte de grupos cazadores-recolectores. Esta situación se refleja en la explotación predominantemente local de materias primas líticas que se usaron para manufacturar artefactos mediante, principalmente, estrategias tecnológicas del tipo expeditivas. Aquí se profundiza en el uso que se le dio a las distintas rocas en los sectores mencionados para conocer mejor sobre las elecciones que realizaron los cazadores-recolectores al momento de seleccionar y utilizar las distintas materias primas líticas disponibles en el ambiente. Se observa que dentro del amplio abanico de litologías disponibles, dominan en las muestras las rocas silíceas, la dacita y el basalto y que cada una de ellas registra ciertas diferencias que indican que no fueron empleadas de la misma manera. Asimismo, se observa la elección de rocas alóctonas durante el Holoceno medio y luego un cambio hacia las locales en el Holoceno tardío. Os complexos arqueológicos costeiros dos setores entre a foz do rio Santa Cruz e o atual território do Parque Nacional Monte León mostram o uso de recursos bióticos e abióticos locais por grupos caçadores-coletores. Essa situação se reflete na exploração predominantemente local de matérias-primas líticas que eram utilizadas na fabricação de artefatos por meio, principalmente, de estratégias tecnológicas do tipo expedito. Aqui se aprofunda o uso dado às diferentes rochas nos setores mencionados para conhecer melhor as escolhas feitas pelos caçadores-coletores na seleção e utilização das diferentes matérias-primas líticas disponíveis no ambiente. Observa-se que na ampla gama de litologias disponíveis, rochas siliciosas, dacito e basalto predominam nas amostras e que cada uma delas registra certas diferenças que indicam que não foram utilizadas da mesma forma. Da mesma forma, observa-se a escolha de rochas alóctones durante o Holoceno médio e depois uma mudança para as locais no Holoceno tardio. Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades.
