description This article is about a social movement present within different Brazilian educational institutions, entitled NEABs (Afro-Brazilian Studies Centers). The article is divided into three main parts. Initially, we will address the phenomenon of the emergence of the studies on the African continent, inserted in the Brazilian academic sphere by white researchers in compliance with international integration policies of the Brazilian government. Then we will discuss about the first initiatives under the guidance and coordination of black researchers, students and / or activists, notably in the late 1970s, until the 1990s. Finally, the most recent formation inspired by the foundation of the Brazilian Association of Black Researchers (ABPN) and the creation of the Consortium of Afro-Brazilian Studies Centers (CONNEABs). We are also interested in reflecting on the different scope of these groups that go beyond epistemic-academic discussions and enter political, cultural and even individual debates in support of black students and teachers. They thus contribute to the expansion of citizenship, political and individual rights, causing tensions by making visible the diverse kinds of racisms in the Brazilian educational environment in addition to strengthening research ties and academic networks. Here we cover a phenomenon that begins in the 1960s and undergoes changes from different contexts marked by the greater entry of Afro-Brazilians in the academic field and the expansion of debates and the legal framework, around anti-racism, in Brazilian society.

Este texto se propone reflexionar sobre la existencia de un movimiento que surge en el seno de distintas instituciones educacionales brasileñas: NEABs (Núcleos de Estudios Afrobrasileños). El artículo está dividido en tres partes principales. Primeramente, se enfocará en el interés que los estudiantes mostraron por aprender sobre el continente africano. Este hecho resulta relevante, ya que los mismos se encuentran insertos en un ámbito académico liderado por investigadores blancos que corresponden a las políticas internacionales de integración del gobierno brasileño. En segundo lugar, nos detendremos en algunas de las primeras iniciativas que se llevaron a cabo bajo la orientación y coordinación de investigadores, estudiantes y/o activistas negros de gran relevancia al final de los años setenta, y que continuaron hasta la década del noventa. Por último, nos referiremos a la formación actual, inspirada en la creación de la Asociación Brasileña de Investigadores Negros (ABPN, sigla en portugués) y la fundación del Consorcio de Núcleos de Estudios Afrobrasileños (CONNEABs). Además, es de nuestro interés pensar los diferentes alcances de estos grupos, ya que los mismos van más allá de los debates epistémico-académicos, y se han convertido en debates políticos, culturales, e incluso individuales que amparan tanto a estudiantes como a profesores negros.  Estos grupos, consecuentemente, contribuyen con la ampliación de las nociones de ciudadanía, derechos políticos e individuales, provocando tensiones al desvelar las más diferentes formas de racismos presentes en el ambiente educacional brasileño. Asimismo, dichos grupos, sin duda, fortalecen los lazos entre las investigaciones y las redes académicas. Haremos un recorrido que da inicio en los años sesenta, y que ha estado sujeto a cambios debido a contextos caracterizados por un mayor número de estudiantes afrobrasileños que ingresan a las filas académicas y a la ampliación de los debates; también, debido a la estructura legal forjada con respecto al antirracismo en la sociedad brasileña. Este texto se propõe abordar um movimento presente no interior de diferentes instituições educacionais brasileiras, intitulado NEABs (Núcleos de Estudos Afro-Brasileiros). O artigo está dividido em três partes principais. Inicialmente abordaremos o fenômeno do surgimento do interesse pelos estudos a respeito do continente africano, inseridos no âmbito acadêmico brasileiro por pesquisadores brancos em atendimento a políticas internacionais de integração do governo brasileiro. Depois nos deteremos em algumas das primeiras iniciativas sob a orientação e coordenação de pesquisadores, estudantes e/ou ativistas negros, notadamente no final dos anos 1970, seguindo até a década de 1990. Por último, a mais atual formação inspirada pela constituição da Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores Negros (ABPN) e a criação do Consórcio de Núcleos de Estudos Afro-Brasileiros (CONNEABs). Interessa-nos também refletir sobre os diferentes alcances destes grupos que ultrapassam as discussões epistêmico-acadêmicas e adentram os debates políticos, culturais e até individuais em amparo a estudantes e professores negros. Contribuem, assim, com a ampliação da cidadania, dos direitos políticos e individuais, provocando tensões ao desvelar os racismos diversos no ambiente educacional brasileiro, além de fortalecer laços de pesquisa e de redes acadêmicas.
