In this paper we study the bone tools assemblage from hunter-gatherer groups that inhabited the Rolling Pampa during Late Holocene through the analysis of Hunter and Cañada Rocha archaeological sites. On the basis of the results, we discuss the archaeological record of other regions. As concluding remarks, we note that the use of bone raw material in this area is different from the Low Paraná River, and conversely, it is similar to the interior of Pampa grassland, sharing other material similarities. Bone technology shows signs of having a secondary role due to the low proportion of bone tools and morphological groups with low standardization and scarce manufacture investment. We can suppose that bone technology complement other activities, mainly oriented to lithic tools, which are abundant and functionally diverse.

La presencia de artefactos óseos ha sido mencionada en los trabajos clásicos de la Pampa Ondulada y de la cuenca inferior del Paraná. Si bien sabemos el rol central que estos jugaron en la subsistencia de los grupos de cazadores-recolectores de esta última región, la información respectiva de la primera área es sumamente escasa. En este trabajo analizamos los artefactos óseos generados por grupos cazadores-recolectores que ocuparon la Pampa Ondulada durante el Holoceno tardío a través de los conjuntos de los sitios Cañada de Rocha y Hunter. Sobre la base de estos resultados, discutimos los registros de otras áreas de la región. Como conclusión, notamos que el uso de la materia prima ósea en la Pampa Ondulada es claramente diferente al del Paraná inferior y, en cambio, es similar al del interior de la llanura pampeana, con la cual comparten otros rasgos del registro arqueológico. La tecnología ósea muestra signos de haber tenido un rol secundario con baja proporción de artefactos y grupos morfológicos poco estandarizados que representan baja inversión en la manufactura. Podemos suponer que ésta tuvo un rol de complementariedad con otras actividades, fundamentalmente de la fabricación de instrumentos líticos, cuya producción y funcionalidad fue más diversa y compleja. A presença de artefatos ósseos tem sido mencionada nos estudos clássicos do Pampa Ondulada e da bacia inferior do rio Paraná. Embora saibamos o papel central que estes desempenharam na subsistência dos grupos de caçadores-coletores desta última região, as respetivas informações da primeira área são extremamente escassas. Neste artigo estudamos a assembleia de ferramentas ósseas de grupos de caçadores-coletores que habitaram o Pampa Ondulada durante o Holoceno Superior por meio da análise dos sítios arqueológicos de Hunter e Cañada Rocha. Com base nos resultados, discutimos o registro arqueológico de outras regiões. Como considerações finais, notamos que o uso de matéria-prima óssea nesta área é diferente do Baixo Rio Paraná e, inversamente, é semelhante ao interior do campo Pampa, compartilhando outras semelhanças materiais. A tecnologia óssea mostra sinais de ter um papel secundário devido à baixa proporção de ferramentas ósseas e grupos morfológicos com baixa padronização e escasso investimento de fabricação. Podemos supor que a tecnologia óssea complementa outras atividades, principalmente voltadas para ferramentas líticas, que são abundantes e funcionalmente diversas.
