En los últimos tiempos los archivos personales han adquirido una presencia notoria en el mundo archivístico. El conjunto de documentos resguardados a lo largo de los años por las personas, adquieren mayor valor si el personaje formó parte también de un escenario institucional, académico, político, de investigación o de gestión. Es el caso del archivo personal del historiador Ernesto J. A. Maeder (1931-2015), quien fue una de las fguras más destacadas de la historiografía del Nordeste argentino, desde mediados de los años ‘60 del siglo XX hasta su fallecimiento en el año 2015. Sus estudios, además de haber aportado a la investigación, contribuyeron a la sistematización y edición de numerosas fuentes desconocidas para la construcción de la historia rioplatense colonial, como así también del período independiente y contemporáneo de la Argentina. Luego de su fallecimiento, dicho archivo fue donado por su familia al Núcleo de Estudios Históricos Coloniales del Instituto de Investigaciones Geohistóricas del CONICET, sede en la que trabajó durante tres décadas. En este artículo se presentarán las características de dicho archivo, que aunque está en vías de organización, ofrece una riqueza que debe ser conocida por el público académico e interesados, con el fin de ser utilizado para la investigación científca.Abstract In recent times personal archives have acquired a notorious presence in the archival world. The set of documents protected over the years by people acquire greater value if the character was also part of an institutional, academic, political, research or management scenario. This is the case of the personal archive of the Ernesto JA Maeder (1931-2015), who was one of the most outstanding fgures in the historiography of Northeast Argentina, from the mid-60s of the 20th century until his death in 2015. His Studies in addition to having contributed to the research, to the systematization and edition of numerous unknown sources for the construction of the colonial Río de la Plata history, as well as the independent and contemporary period of Argentina. After his death, this fle was donated by his family to the Núcleo de Estudios Históricos Coloniales IIGHI Conicet, headquarters where he worked for three decades. In this article, the characteristics of said fle will be presented, although it is in the process of being organized, it o?ers a wealth that should be known by the academic and interested public, in order to be used for scientifc research.Key words: historiography, archive, argentine history.
