Prophets of revolution. Representations about historical time between “tercermundistas” (Thirdworlds) priests (1968 - 1973)

In this paper I analyze how the member of Priests for the Third World Movement´s (MSTM ) meant and understood their historical time ( Koselleck 1993) between the ‘60s and ‘70s of the twentieth century. I board representations about the present, past and future around which the priests articulated an...

I board representations about the present, past and future around which the priests articulated and defined their “must be” as Prophets. I analyze prevailing metaphors (Turner 1974) that they used to define these temporalities, diagnose the present and predict the future. I try to understand their horizons of significance. In addition, I investigate how on was ligated political and religious semantics. All that forming a particular experience about historical time, the crisis, Christianity and revolutionary militancy. I compare official documents and articles by various MSTM´s adherents in different times and political circumstances. All that is good for understands certain ideas and budgets, nuances, agreements and differences on perspectives and representations of historical time and its transformations in the diachronic plane.
